It is spring time in the Southern Hemisphere, with mild temperatures and the vineyards awakening, an ideal time for wine tasting.
Best for that summer vacation feeling. Relax with chilled white wine by the pool after your wine tours. It can get hot, but wineries are air-conditioned.
Fall is harvest season, with perfect weather and the harvest festival on the first weekend of March, this is the best time to see the wineries in full action.
Winters are mild and short, with plenty of sunny days. Best for seeing the snow capped Andes mountains, and less busy wineries provide a more personal experience.
Accommodation in Mendoza can be found in three main areas: Mendoza City, Chacras de Coria, and more remote countryside lodges. Each offers a unique experience.
During your wine tours, you'll spend the day soaking up sweeping landscapes, majestic mountain views, and endless vineyards. To complement that countryside experience, we recommend staying in Mendoza city, where you can explore its great restaurants, ice cream shops, and take in its vibrant atmosphere.
If you prefer it a bit more relaxed, Chacras de Coria is an excellent choice. This charming town, just 20 minutes south of Mendoza City, offers a laid-back atmosphere with tree-lined streets, boutique accommodations, and excellent dining options right in the neighborhood. Group wine tours will pick you up from Chacras de Coria.
Staying out in the wine country is a great option if you want to get away from it all. These lodges are typically located in remote, serene vineyard settings. Due to the distances group wine tours will usually not be able to pick you up and drop you off here. Top tip: Save time and money by using a private tour to transport you between Mendoza city and the lodge, and prearrange airport transfers.
